Colourful cupcakes

Colourful cupcakes

Over the last couple of years I've made all manner of cakes. I have stepped up, suggested and designed, making the perfect (!) product for everyone who asked.

I know that I love cupcakes and I love anything colourful. These are the the things I've most enjoyed.

In 2017 I am now offering all the colour and cupcakes you can dream of. I will show you what I can do so you can pick what suits you.

A tower of cupcakes for a 21st birthday. A table spread with pink cupcakes for a baby shower.  elaborate floral cupcakes for a wedding. Hundereds of cupcakes with logos for a product launch. Gold cupcakes for a 40th.

You get the idea. Pictures soon.

Keep happy - do things you love.

Dessert tables

i waas lucky enough to help put together these glorious dessert tables for a Batman vs Frozen party.

Twins with strong ideas make twice the work and loads of fun.

Each centre piece 3 tier cake was  surrounded with meringues, cupcakes, iced biscuits and chocolate dipped bread sticks. All tied in with the table theme of course.

The client had beautifully set up each of the tables with decorations, coloured sweets, themed popcorn holders and a great backdrop.

Crown Road street party

Esme Baker

After meeting me and my cupcake stall at the Richmond food festival, the organisers of the St Margaret's street party have invited me to take part.  Good impression, tick.

It will be on Crown Road, St Margaret's, Sunday 12th June 2016.

Lovely to keep it local and always nice to be asked.

To this end I am delighted to announce the arrival of my new trestle table and gazebo.

Exclusive, behind the scenes, trestle table.

Lovely to meet new customers at the Surrey Food Festival last weekend.

Baking starts just 2 days before an event like this, so, in the few weeks before, I have some time for other things.

Top priority, obviously, is to have bunting that matches the cake cases.  Oh and the display cakes, plates, table cloth, serviettes... If it's hot pink or lime green then I'm trying to work out what I could use it for.

Luckily (?) I got a parking ticket when I bought the bunting fabric. A clear sign that I need to come back to earth, stop shopping and make cakes.

I enjoyed heaps of compliments about the cakes, people continuously taking photos of the stall, I even had an offer to buy the bunting (which I should have taken to cover the cost of the parking ticket). It all made for a great day.

See you again next year.

Recipe- Creme Egg Scotch Egg

Esme Baker

For those who want to try this at home...

Bake (or buy) delicious home made chocolate brownie.
Make chocolate buttercream icing.
Crumble the cake into the icing and mix.
Unwrap the creme egg.
Do not eat the creme egg.
Wrap the egg in a blanket of cake mix.
Pop in the fridge to set.
Cup of tea
Cover the egg/cake ball in melted chocolate, be warned this is very very messy.
Roll in crushed mini-eggs.
Try to hide it from your kids/ partner - the chocolatey explosion in your kitchen might be a give away though.
Create a diversion & eat while no-one is looking.
